Boozy Spirits Podcast: Visit Tuscaloosa Discusses Oktoberfest

Here's the second episode of the Boozy Spirits podcast, featuring Visit Tuscaloosa promoting its upcoming Oktoberfest event.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Fall is in the air and our friends at the Boozy Spirits podcast recently welcomed representatives from Visit Tuscaloosa to discuss its upcoming Oktoberfest event.

As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa Oktoberfest and 5K will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Druid City Social on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Visit Tuscaloosa Director of Community Relations Josh Rivers was the guest on the second episode of the podcast and promoted the event, along with enjoying some craft beer and conversation.

"We're excited. We've done a lot of work to get this back," Rivers said of the upcoming event.

As part of the promotion, the podcast starts with the two hosts — Tuscaloosa businessmen Justin Grimball and Matt Ray — and Rivers testing their abilities at hoisting a Stein.

Oktoberfest will feature a Stein-hoisting competition, which will see competitors see how long they can hold a large mug of beer — with each Stein holding approximately three beers.

All attendees on Saturday will receive a plastic commemorative beer Stein.

This week's episode of the Boozy Spirits podcast also featured blind tastings of beer that will be featured at Oktoberfest, including products from Cahaba Brewing Co. and Goat Island.

Local brewers Druid City Brewing Co. and Black Warrior Brewing Co. will also be in attendance at Oktoberfest on Saturday.
