On September 25, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., the Gorgas House Museum will host a closing reception for our exhibit, "Clara Maass: She Gave Her Life”. Admission is free and Cuban treats will be provided.
During the reception, Dr. Erik Peterson (Department of History, The University of Alabama) will be give a brief presentation on the transition from humoral theory to germ theory and the Yellow Fever Commission’s work in Cuba, providing historical and scientific context for Clara Maass’s role in the experiments.
