Dolgencorp owned and operated the Dollar General store at the Northport shopping center on the evening of March 2016, when a silver Kia Spectra slammed through the front of the store, seriously injuring one woman and resulting in minor injuries for the driver.
In a previous settlement, the law firm saw their client awarded a total of $1.55 million from the dealership where the driver of the vehicle purchased the Kia Spectra involved in the incident, the driver of the vehicle and their client’s uninsured motorist carrier.

While a settlement was reached regarding the uninsured vehicle and driver involved, there was no settlement agreement reached with Dolgencorp, resulting in the case going to a jury trial.
Attorneys with Prince Glover Hayes argued that Dolgencorp was negligent and/or wanton by failing to correct a defective condition on its premises by adding safety devices such as heavy barricades or bollards to prevent vehicles from crashing into its stores.
"[Attorneys Matt Glover and Blake Williams] worked diligently on this case," the injury law firm said in a statement. "They took and defended numerous depositions of parties, experts and witnesses. They filed written interrogatories and requests for production. They prepared a mediation presentation and were successful in reaching a settlement with the car dealership."
