Welch will suit up for the Tide after a commendable four-year career at St. Bonaventure, where he scored nearly 1,200 career points and establish himself as one of the strongest shooters in the Atlantic-10 conference.

Back home, Welch is the all-time leading scorer in Western New York boys basketball history, according to his St. Bonaventure player bio. During his time at Cheektowaga for high school coach Patrick Cullinan, he scored 2,376 career points and averaged 30.4 points as a senior.
