Fire Quickly Contained, No Injuries After Explosion At Hunt Oil

An explosion early Thursday morning at a Tuscaloosa oil refinery resulted in a fire that was quickly put out.

TUSCALOOSA, AL. — Multiple agencies have confirmed an explosion at Hunt Oil Thursday morning resulted in a small fire, but no major damage or injuries.

Emergency officials confirmed to Patch that Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue responded to the call around 3 a.m. Thursday, but the fire was out when crews arrived. The Tuscaloosa Police Department also confirmed to Patch that a truck was refueling when the explosion occurred.

The ensuing fire was then extinguished by the Hunt Oil fire response team.
