First Images Come In After Unconfirmed Tornado Slams Sawyerville
Here's the latest after a powerful storm left a long stretch of damage and potential injuries in Hale County Thursday.

SAWYERVILLE, AL — The first images and reports of damage and injuries are coming in from Hale County after an unconfirmed tornado slammed the small town of Sawyerville Thursday afternoon.

Two still photos posted by storm chaser and journalist Bryan Wilson showed extensive structural damage along Highway 14, approximately two miles north of Sawyerville. In one picture, two vehicles can be seen in a pond after being moved by the power of the storm.

Hale County EMA Director Russell Weeden also confirmed to ABC 33/40's Annie Mapp that there is extensive damage in Sawyerville. Her colleague, Stephen Quinn, also reported in the immediate aftermath that injuries had been reported along Highway 14.
Additionally, the NOAA Storm Prediction Center has already received numerous reports of tree damage in Sumter County from Thursday's storms.
