Flash Flood Warning For South Tuscaloosa Until 10:15 P.M.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Tuscaloosa County until 10:15 p.m. Saturday evening.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The National Weather Service forecast office in Birmingham has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Tuscaloosa County until 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

Less than a day after West Alabama was hit with heavy rain that spurred flooding, NWS predicts up to another 3-4 inches for certain spots over the warning area. Officials warn of flooding of small creeks and streams, along with water covering roadways and areas of poor drainage.

The locations mentioned in the Flash Flood Warning include: the City of Tuscaloosa, Holt, University Mall, McFarland Mall, Bryant-Denny Stadium, the University of Alabama and Taylorville.

The University of Alabama reported shortly after 8 p.m. that University Boulevard between Anna Avenue and Hackberry Lane is passable after reports of flooding, along with Bryant Drive between Anna Avenue and 2nd Avenue.

The storm warning area is primarily south of the Black Warrior River and does not include Northport and northern Tuscaloosa County.
