GoFundMe Launched After Alabama Basketball Manager's Unexpected Death
An online fundraiser has been launched to help cover funeral expenses for a 20-year-old Alabama basketball manager who died Monday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — An online fundraiser has been launched to help cover funeral expenses following the untimely death of University of Alabama men's basketball student-manager Charlie Wilson.

Wilson passed away unexpectedly this week, the UA athletic department confirmed on social media. The Aliceville native was 20 years old.

BamaOnline reported on Thursday that Wilson, who just finished his sophomore season at UA, suffered a seizure on Monday while in Pensacola, Florida for his grandmother’s funeral.
In an effort to help cover Wilson's funeral expenses, a GoFundMe was launched Wednesday by Perkins Carden.

As of the publication of this story on Thursday, the online fundraiser had garnered $2,905 from 42 donors toward its goal of $5,000.
