Foul Play Not Suspected After Man Found Dead In Hurricane Creek Park
An online fundraiser has been launched and police do not suspect foul play after a man's body was found in Hurricane Creek on Friday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Tuscaloosa County man whose body was found in the water early Friday morning in Hurricane Creek Park and an online fundraiser has been launched to help cover funeral expenses.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit on Monday identified the man as 38-year-old Ralph David Miller, before saying there are no apparent signs of foul play and the death appears accidental.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the unit, said the investigation will remain open until the cause of death is determined by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
The GoFundMe was started Sunday for Miller by his sister, Angela Miller of Coker.

Miller's sister said the death came as an unexpected shock to the family, as her brother was a father of five children.
As of the publication of this story, the fundraiser had garnered $885 toward its goal of $12,000.
As Patch previously reported, officers with the Tuscaloosa Police Department and investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit responded just after 7:15 a.m. Friday morning when an individual out walking their dog spotted Miller's body.
