GoFundMe Started For Northport Family Displaced By House Fire
An online fundraising effort has been started for a family displaced by a house fire last weekend on Blueberry Drive in Northport.

NORTHPORT, AL — An online fundraising effort has raised nearly $6,000 thus far for a Northport family displaced by a Sunday afternoon house fire on Blueberry Drive, in the Carolwood Estates neighborhood off of Mitt Lary Road.
Patch previously reported from the scene on Sunday when crews from multiple agencies responded to battle the fully-involved house fire. In the days that followed, a GoFundMe was started by David Jones that had raised $5,807 from 81 donors toward the goal of $10,000 as of the publication of this story. Click here to donate.
"The Alford family were renting this house," the description of the fundraiser reads. "While renters insurance will replace some things, it will not replace what they've lost. Family and friends are helping out as much as possible but they need to rebuild their life."

"They need funds to locate a place to live so the entire family can be together and not split between family and friends," Jones wrote. "Any and all contributions will go directly to the Alford family so that they can begin rebuilding their lives."
The cause of the fire has not been made public as of Friday morning.
