JCSO said deputies were dispatched just before 1 p.m. Saturday to a residence in the 6000 block of Lou George Loop to investigate a report of a person who had fallen from a tree.

Investigators learned from witnesses at the scene that the 56-year-old man attempting to cut some limbs had climbed into a tree using a ladder.
Witnesses told police that one of the limbs reportedly struck the ladder, causing the man to fall to ground.

After suffering life-threatening injuries, the man — who has not been publicly identified — was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
