No Injuries In Friday Night House Fire In Northport

NORTHPORT, AL — Northport Fire Rescue responded to a moderate house fire in the 4400 block Cloverdale Estate Friday evening.

Northport Fire Chief Bart Marshall told Patch firefighters responded at 7:50 p.m. to a report a fire in the garage and attic of a residence in the neighborhood.

While the house sustained moderate fire and smoke damage, no one was injured in the fire, which was contained and reported out by 8:13 p.m.
Sources informed Patch of the possibility of a natural gas leak and Marshall said the residents reported they smelled gas in the house today, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Marshall said he was informed that the fire does not appear to have been intentional.
