NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport City Council held its regular meeting Monday, which saw action taken on infrastructure projects, a new member on the city's Planning & Zoning Commission, and more.

  • The Council approved the list of roads for the city's 2022 Resurfacing Project. Click here to see the full list.
  • The Council heard the first reading of an ordinance change to its municipal code that proposes heightened fees for private entities or individuals who cause damage to city property like sewer lines and water meters.
  • The Council approved the appointment of Tracy Kelly to the Northport Planning & Zoning Commission. Her term will expire on Dec. 31 and she will be eligible to apply for a full term once the new year begins.
  • Council President Pro Tem John Hinton presided over Monday night's meeting, with Council President Jeff Hogg out on vacation.
  • Mayor Bobby Herndon gave updates on his efforts to collect donations for flood victims in Lynch, Kentucky. He plans to continue collection efforts on Tuesday before hitting the road to deliver the supplies.
