TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department is investigating a wreck involving a dirt bike and SUV early Tuesday morning in Tuscaloosa.

TPD said Justin Tionne Wilder Jr., 21, was driving a Yamaha dirt bike north on McFarland Boulevard East at 12:50 a.m. when the bike collided with an SUV that was turning right onto Jug Factory Lane from McFarland Boulevard headed toward the 800 block of Skyland Boulevard.

Wilder and a passenger on the dirt bike were transported to DCH Regional Medical Center.
Wilder later died at the hospital, while the 21-year-old female passenger suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash remains under investigation.
