Pedestrian Struck And Killed On I-359 In Tuscaloosa County

The fatal incident occurred in the area of Oscar Baxter Drive around 3:50 a.m. Thursday morning.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed on Interstate 359 early Thursday morning.

TPD said the incident occurred in the area of Oscar Baxter Drive at approximately 3:50 a.m., which prompted police to temporarily shut down a portion of the southbound lanes just south of the I-20/59 on-ramp to Skyland Boulevard.

Despite police and paramedics arriving within minutes, TPD said, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fatal incident remains under investigation.
