Search For Missing UA Student Enters 2nd Day; GoFundMe Raises $26K For Info
Here's the latest on the search for a missing University of Alabama student who was last seen on Sunday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The search for a missing University of Alabama student is entering its second day, while an online fundraiser has already raised close to $30,000 to go toward the push for answers in the case.

Tuscaloosa police and fire officials worked through Monday to try and locate 20-year-old Garrett Walker, who was last seen early Sunday morning at The Grey Lady in downtown Tuscaloosa. The first day of the search, which focused on the area in the vicinity of the former location of the Bama Belle along the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk, ended at dark for safety reasons.

While the search moves forward on the river, a GoFundMe was established by Walker's family to collect reward money for information concerning his whereabouts. As of the publication of this article Tuesday morning, the GoFundMe — in less than 24 hours — has raised $26,289 from more than 400 donors.

As Patch previously reported, Walker was seen at The Grey Lady in downtown Tuscaloosa at 1:15 a.m. Sunday and then last seen around 4:20 a.m. — 4:40 a.m. near 17th Avenue and Queen City Avenue.
The search began to focus on the area along the river after Walker's phone and at least one article of clothing were was found in the area.
Walker is 5'8'' and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a checkered flannel overshirt, blue jeans and a gray Alabama golf shirt.
