Sellers went on to explain that witnesses physically described the suspect leaving the scene in a vehicle belonging to one of the victims.
The suspect was identified as a 30-year-old Devin Martez Quinzy, who investigators made contact with by phone in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
Sellers said Quinzy turned himself in to the police in the parking lot of a business on Highway 69 South Saturday night.
He then said 66-year-old Mitchell Lewis, of Tuscaloosa, died at the hospital Saturday night as a result of his injuries from the the shooting.
"There is no evidence of an argument prior to the shooting," Sellers said. " Mr. Quinzy is related to the victim who is still at DCH.
Quinzy remains in the Tuscaloosa County Jail without bond after being charged with capital murder.
"The charges are upgraded to Capital Murder due to two people dying as a result of his actions during the shooting," Sellers said. "The investigation is ongoing."
