Smoothie King To Open First Northport Location

Northport City Council President Jeff Hogg confirmed the popular smoothie business will soon open up shop north of the Black Warrior River.

NORTHPORT, AL — Northport City Council President Jeff Hogg confirmed on Thursday that Smoothie King will soon open its first location north of the Black Warrior River.

Hogg said he is unable to disclose the potential location at the moment, but the company expects to open in nine months. Smoothie King currently operates three locations in Tuscaloosa County.

"I had a great conversation with the franchisee today and he confirmed that he looks forward to expanding their footprint into Northport," Hogg told Patch on Thursday. "This will be a new-to-market item of which we are always happy to see. I encourage everyone to give them a try to show that we are a viable market and that they made the right choice by coming. Many citizens have requested this business so I’m glad it has come to fruition.Northport continues to amaze me each day."

Smoothie King is the latest eatery to be confirmed for Northport, with Guthrie's, Great American Cookie Co., Waffle House and others expected to open soon.
