Suspect Nabbed In Tuscaloosa After Shooting At Selma Officer

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a "dangerous offender" apprehended in Tuscaloosa earlier this month was a suspect accused of attempted murder of a police officer in Selma in January.

According to the agency, the Selma Police Officer was sitting in his patrol vehicle at the intersection of Marie Foster Street and J L Chestnut Boulevard when two individuals approached his patrol vehicle. One fired a handgun into the vehicle and struck the driver side door where the
officer was sitting, but the officer was not injured.
Both individuals fled on foot, but agents eventually identified Strong as a suspect.

As Patch previously reported, officers briefly closed McFarland Boulevard near 13th Street Wednesday afternoon as the arrest warrants for attempted murder of the officer and for discharging a firearm into the officer’s patrol vehicle.
