Authorities said investigators recovered more than a pound of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia and cash.

Holloway was charged with first-degree possession of marijuana and failure to affix a tax stamp.

He was transported to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, where bond was set at $5,000. Holloway was released around 10:45 a.m. Monday morning and a source told Patch he met with Alabama head coach Nate Oats after being released.

Holloway is a guard for the Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball program and transferred to Alabama from Auburn ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Going into the NCAA men's basketball tournament, Holloway was the second-leading scoring on the team, averaging 16.8 points a game.

University officials did not comment on Holloway’s status with the basketball team beyond the statement regarding the student conduct investigation.

Oats has also not commented publicly on Holloway's status.

The investigation remains ongoing.
