Tide's Montana Fouts Named NFCA All-American
Alabama softball ace pitcher Montana Fouts was named a second team All-American by The National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama softball ace pitcher Montana Fouts was named a second team All-American by The National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday.

The honor comes after Fouts announced she would return for her final season at the Capstone, marking the third time she has received an All-American nod. The Grayson, Kentucky native previously earned second team honors in 2019 and first team in 2021.

UA Athletics said Fouts is the 10th player in program history to earn at least three All-America awards for the Crimson Tide.
In addition to her All-American honors, Fouts was also named First Team All-SEC this season and was a top-25 finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.

During the 2022 campaign, Fouts was awarded SEC Pitcher of the Week on four separate occasion — representing the most weekly awards of any league player. She also led the SEC in strikeouts.
On the season, Fouts posted a 24-8 record with a 2.10 earned run average.
