  3. The City of Tuscaloosa on Thursday announced it has received a $2.2 million Shuttered Venue Operators Grant that will help ensure operations and maintenance of the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. (More on Patch)
  4. A Mississippi man was killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle crash involving a van crashing into a dump truck Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 80, roughly 12 miles south of Livingston in Sumter County. (More on Patch)

  • In a celebration of Nick's Kids Foundation donation to the Saban Center project, the City of Tuscaloosa and the foundation will hold a street renaming celebration and parade this morning at 9 a.m. (More on Patch)
  • DCH Health System reported nine new coronavirus inpatients on Wednesday, but its overall total remained relatively flat from the previous day at 88 total hospitalizations. That is compared to 20 at the same point two weeks ago. (More)
  • Tuscaloosa County has a "high" level of coronavirus transmission as of Aug. 3, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There were 199 new cases per 100,000 residents between July 27 and Aug. 2. (More on Patch)
  • The 2nd Avenue Overpass on the University of Alabama campus officially opened to traffic Wednesday morning. (More on Patch)
