Venue, Moderators Announced For GOP Presidential Debate In Tuscaloosa
Here's a look at additional details regarding the fourth Republican presidential debate, which is set to be held in Tuscaloosa on Dec. 6

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Republican National Committee on Thursday announced that NewsNation will serve as the media partner for the upcoming Republican presidential debate in Tuscaloosa on Dec. 6.

Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly and NewsNation anchor Elizabeth Vargas have been confirmed as co-moderators for the event. The fourth GOP debate, set for Dec. 6 in the University of Alabama's Moody Music Building, will last from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.

The field for the debate has not been announced.
"The University welcomes the RNC and its presidential candidates for their upcoming primary debate," UA said in a statement on Thursday. "As a public institution, UA promotes free speech and facilitates numerous opportunities for civil discourse and presentation of ideas. Our campus is honored to serve as a neutral site for the debate, and hosting the event is not an endorsement of any candidate or political party."

UA leadership then said any impact on campus activities and classes the night of the debate should be minimal.
As Patch previously reported, candidates qualifying for the debate must garner at least 6% in two approved national polls or 6% in one poll from two separate early-voting states: Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina.
What's more, participants must also gather at least 80,000 unique donors and at least 200 unique donors per state or territory in 20 or more states to qualify for December's debate.
