Municipal garbage truck driver injured in Midtown Anchorage collision, officials say (adn.com) — A municipal garbage truck driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after an SUV collided with his Solid Waste Services truck at Benson Boulevard and the Seward Highway in Midtown Anchorage Thursday morning. Anchorage police say southbound Seward briefly closed while fire crews helped the driver exit the overturned truck, and investigators are still determining whether a red light was run.
