The case, APD's seventh shooting this year, is under review by state prosecutors and will also face an internal policy investigation.

Ch'atanaltsegh: A weird and wonderful parade marks return of a Dena'ina place name in Anchorage (northernjournal.com) — Anchorage residents turned out at Lyn Ary Park and along the Coastal Trail for a colorful parade celebrating a new Dena'ina place name for Fish Creek, Ch'atanaltsegh. The grant-funded project will add 32 Indigenous-themed markers citywide by 2028, with local artists, tribal leaders, and city officials working together to make Anchorage's public spaces better reflect Dena'ina history.

4. 3 people killed in plane crash near remote Alaska town were from Bay Area (cbsnews.com) — A small plane that departed Anchorage for Seldovia crashed into shallow water Wednesday, killing all four people aboard, including the Anchorage-based pilot and three Bay Area passengers. Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fatal crash near the remote coastal town.
