• Alaska Air National Guard responds to 2 plane crashes, rescues 2 pilots (alaska-native-news.com) — A small plane crashed about 20 miles east of Palmer on September 10, and Alaska Air National Guard crews airlifted the injured pilot to an Anchorage hospital. In a separate incident the same day, they also rescued a pilot after a crash near Skwentna, and officials are urging pilots around Palmer and statewide to maintain properly registered 406 MHz emergency locator transmitters.
