• Mat-Su moves ahead with school concealed carry program using state, taxpayer funds (matsusentinel.com) — Palmer-area schools are moving ahead with a new program that will let selected teachers and staff carry concealed weapons, funded with roughly $130,000 in state and local tax dollars. The Mat-Su district will finalize funding in its October budget update, while developing training, psychological screening, and selection standards that will affect which Palmer educators can participate and how the program operates day to day.
