• Borough trims landfill seep repair project near Soldotna (peninsulaclarion.com) — Kenai Peninsula Borough is seeking bids for a scaled-back repair project to fix leachate seepage at Central Peninsula Landfill, just south of Soldotna, with bidding closing Sept. 17. The work aims to move beyond temporary fixes, address permit compliance issues, and support a larger federally funded upgrade to the landfill's leachate treatment capacity that affects how Soldotna-area trash is safely managed.
