The Redding Police Department said the crash serves as a reminder for drivers about the dangers of distracted driving and to wear their seatbelts.

"A moment of distraction and the decision not to buckle up can change lives forever," police said. "Please buckle up and put the cell phone down while driving. No call, text, or video is worth a life."
