115 New Cases Of Coronavirus In Alameda County

While the county saw a huge jump in the number of diagnosed cases of coronavirus, there were no new deaths reported.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — The Alameda County Public Health Department reported 112 additional cases of the new coronavirus Tuesday, a big jump from the 22 cases reported on Monday. No deaths were reported.

The report brings the countywide total of COVID-19 cases to 2,986. The death toll remains at 93.

There are currently 91 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Alameda County, an increase of 3 over Monday. There are now 40 patients being treated in intensive care units.

The numbers do not add up to 2,986 because they are under investigation or fall into other categories.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that hair salons and barbershops may now open back up in those counties already approved for "accelerated reopening." Alameda County does not qualify.
