LADY HORNETS WIN WACC TITLE

The Alameda Hornets Women’s Water Polo team captured the coveted West Alameda County Conference title for the first time in 13 years by beating out long-time rival Piedmont for a demanding final score of 20-10 last Saturday, Nov 1.

Led by captains Chloe Herrera, Maddy Lewis, Sidney Pang and Amy Liu, the team has played strong all season long, their only one-point loss to San Benito in preseason tournament play. “These girls are undefeated in their league,” says coach Les Cortez. “They have earned three tournament championships, and have had an impressive season, winning 21-1 overall. This is a really tenacious team.”
