Laptop Thieves Tracked From Alameda To Antioch, Arrested

Investigators with two police departments, a probation department and school administrators worked together to identify the suspects.

ALAMEDA, CA — Determined detective work by the Alameda Police Department led to two arrests for laptop theft last week. The laptop and a purse were stolen in February, and the investigators tracked the suspects all the way to Antioch.

The robbery victims chased the suspects out of the Peet's Coffee on Webster Street back on Feb. 21. Police report, "three suspects entered the business and snatched one customer’s purse and another customer’s laptop as they were seated at different tables. The suspects fled with the property and were briefly chased by the victims until they entered a nearby vehicle and sped away."

Alameda Police detectives worked with Antioch investigators, school administrators, and the Contra Costa County Probation Department to identify two of the three suspects involved in the robbery.
