Alameda Soccer Club 'Elite Kicks' Islanders U9 Boys Play for NorCal State Cup Championship

The team traveled to Manteca for the tournament.

To cap an outstanding season, the U9 Islanders played in the NorCal State Cup Championship, silver division 3, on Sunday Nov. 20 in Manteca against Red Star Academy 02B White. 

Regulation ended with a 0-0 draw after a well fought defensive match. Red Star scored the decisive goal towards the end of the second overtime. The Islanders made it to the championship by defeating the San Ramon AZURI Boys 03 in the quarter-finals by 4-0, and defeating the Mustang Outlaws 02 in the semi-finals 2-1. 

Playing in the championship was the culmination of a great inaugural NorCal season for the Islanders, who finished second in their division at 6-1-1, scoring 24 goals while surrendering 7 goals (fewest in their division).
