Alameda Pediatric Dentistry’s Dr. Sharine Thenard Honored for Community Leadership by Girls, Inc.

Nominated by her alma mater, St. Joseph Notre Dame High School, Dr. Sharine Thenard of Alameda and Pleasanton Pediatric Dentistry has been named one of the 2012 “Women in Leadership” by Girls Incorporated of the Island City.
Girls Inc. is a non-profit organization that inspires local girls to serve in the community, gain global perspectives, and develop strength of character. Each year at the Women Who Dare awards ceremony, the organization honors teenage girls and women like Dr. Thenard, who excel in their respective fields.
“To think that I would be viewed as a role model to girls and young women makes me very aware of the responsibility I carry,” Dr. Thenard says of her nomination. “Having influence on a young person is one of the most gratifying things a professional or any person could do.”

“I have never been scared of hard work, and I have always done things wholeheartedly,” she says. “So to be rewarded for things that I do anyway, it’s just such great validation that what I do really makes a difference.”
The Women Who Dare awards ceremony will take place March 24, 2012, at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant and Pavilion in Jack London Square.
