Driver Charged With Gross Vehicular Manslaughter

Alameda Police report that one driver has been arrested in the Memorial Day crash that killed 3 people.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Police report that the driver of a pickup truck that crashed in Alameda on Memorial Day has been arrested for three counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and three counts of driving under the influence and causing bodily injury. The crash happened around 8 a.m.

When police and firefighters arrived at the two vehicle crash at Park Street and Lincoln Avenue on May 29, they found one woman in a minivan and seven people in a pickup truck. One victim from the truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A second was pronounced dead at a hospital while a third victim died days later at the hospital.

Police have not identified the driver who was arrested, although they report that the driver was arrested on July 25.
