2 Dead, 6 Injured In Alameda Crash

The two vehicle crash was at Park Street and Lincoln Avenue.

ALAMEDA, CA - Two people died and six others were transported to hospitals for injuries, following a two vehicle crash in Alameda Monday, according to Alameda Police. Five of the six injured were critically hurt.

The crash happened at Park Street and Lincoln Avenue at 8 a.m.

One vehicle, according to police, "a full-size truck, had major damage and seven occupants. One female occupant of that vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another adult male was transported to Highland Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The other five occupants were transported to nearby hospitals with critical injuries."

The other vehicle was a minivan with one female occupant. She was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Alameda Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is probing the cause of the collision. Speed appears to be a contributing factor.
