Please join Alameda Backyard Growers (ABG) for a free presentation on "Rainwater Harvesting" with Debbie Collins of Water Assets on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the High Street Station coffeehouse, located at 1303 High Street on the corner of Encinal. Debbie is an Alameda-based ecological design consultant featuring creative water solutions for the household (www.welcomewater.com). Learn how you can harvest water in containers and in the soil itself. Debbie will also offer a systemic look at water use and how we as individuals can balance the water assets we have with what the amounts of water we need.
ABG monthly meetings are held on second Thursdays at High Street Station and provide an opportunity to meet other gardeners, exchange gardening information, and drop off fruits and vegetables for the Alameda Food Bank. All levels of gardening experience are welcome!
Upcoming monthly meeting topics:
January 13th – "Pruning Fruit Trees"
February 10th – "Planning Your Spring Vegetable Garden"
March 10th – "A Year in the Garden", a special presentation to celebrate ABG's first year!
