Lara Johnston, Pop Diva & the Red Shoes

Bay Area native Lara Johnston is on the rise with her powerful voice and fiery, captivating stage presence. Lara has been performing since she was very young, joining her father's band, the Doobie Brothers, on stage when she was just two. For the past several years, Lara has been conditioning her voice, developng her writing skills, and performing non-stop. She has shared the bill with Willie Nelson, Tower of Power, Huey Lewis and the News, Pablo Cruise, the Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Steve Miller, Journey, Cheap Trick and several other accomplished artists.

This summer, Lara had the opportunity to open up for Heart and Sammy Hagar at Raley Field in Sacramento. As a writer, Lara draws inspiration from her own life, her madcap imagination, the world around her, and the styles of music that seem to best fit each story that merits a song. Lara is halfway finished recording a brand new set of 10 songs, collaborating with some of her favorite writers from Nashville and Los Angeles.

We're pleased to host her at High Street Station! Up-and-coming Americana cello/violin duo The Red Shoes open at 7 p.m.
