Swing N2 Spring with Oakland Youth Chorus

OYC's 36th annual spring concert, Swing N2 Spring, will feature an all-jazz repertoire sung by over 100 Oakland and East Bay youth and young adults ages 5 to 21, including singers from Bay Farm, Franklin & Otis Elementary Schools in Alameda.

This concert stars OYC's award-winning Concert Chorus, Middle School Magic Chorus, elementary-school Miracle Choruses and special guest, Chicago Children's Choir. The OYC ensembles are led by Artistic & Education Director La Nell Martin and OYC's talented teaching staff - Holly Burnett, Rhonda Crane, Bryan Dyer and Michelle Jacques.

OYC's teen Concert Chorus and Middle School Magic Chorus will perform exciting arrangements of jazz classics such as Tuxedo Junction, Satin Doll and Ain't Misbehavin'.  Our youngest singers will delight the audience with Straighten Up and Fly Right, At the Codfish Ball and Shoo Fly Pie. And there won’t be a dry eye in the house as they sing Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World.
