Family Threatened By Knife-Wielding Man: Police

Alameda Police released a photo of the SUV driven by the man in the case.

ALAMEDA, CA — The Alameda Police Department is asking for help from the public to identify a man who threatened a family with a knife. They released a photo Thursday of the man's vehicle.

The threat happened Thursday evening at 6 p.m. as the family was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of 8th Street and Buena Vista Avenue.

Police report that "a traffic-related matter led to a driver brandishing a large knife at the family. The driver's silver SUV was stopped in the intersection, causing traffic to slow during the evening commute."

The family was not injured. They contacted police after they got home.
