Fire Burns Alameda Preschool Shed

The fire started just before 8 a.m. Thursday.

ALAMEDA, CA —A storage shed on the property of a preschool in Alameda burned in a fire this morning, a fire captain said.

The fire was reported at 7:52 a.m. at the preschool at 2438 Otis Drive.

Crews arrived and found the shed on fire at the rear of the property and knocked down the flames in about 10 minutes, Alameda Fire Capt. James Colburn said.

No injuries were reported and the school itself was not damaged, Colburn said.

He said he did not know if children were at the school at the time. Officials at the school were not immediately available.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Colburn said.
