Firefighters Extinguish Blaze at Alameda Middle School
Fire officials are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at an Alameda middle school Thursday afternoon. At 3:51 p.m., fire crews responded to the blaze at Wood Middle School, located at 420 Grant St.
When they arrived they noticed smoke coming from the men’s bathroom of a snack bar, adjacent to the school’s baseball field. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire and according to fire officials, damage was contained to the men’s bathroom. There were no reports of injuries. Fire officials said they are investigating the blaze.
