ALAMEDA, CA — The Alameda Police Department is hosting a free child safety seat inspection and help with installation event this Saturday, September 17, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

It will be held in the City Hall parking lot next to the police department, 1555 Oak Street, Alameda.

California law requires children to ride in either a car seat or booster seat until the age of eight or until they reach of height of 4 feet 9 inches.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends anyone under the age of 12 years old should ride in the back seat.
