Grants Awarded by Kiwanis Club to Local Non Profit Organizations
Alameda Kiwanis Club supports the work of many non profit organizations through grants and volunteerism. Check out www.alamedakiwanis.org.

The Kiwanis Club of Alameda recently awarded grants to 12 local non-profit organizations. Proceeds from the Kiwanis Annual Chili Cook-Off were awarded to the organizations during a dinner meeting at the Elks Club in Alameda. Recipients spoke to the Kiwanis meeting about their organizations and explained the projects and equipment that the grant money would help to fund. Awards were handed out by Cheryl Saxton, President of the Kiwanis and Ed Kofman, Past President.
Receiving the 2016 grants were; Alameda Boys & Girls Club for the Torch Club leadership program, Alameda Education Foundation to fund Equipped for Success school backpacks and supplies, Alameda Food Bank for the fresh milk distribution program, Alameda Homeless Network for the Midway Shelter, Alameda Music Project for percussion kits, Altarena Playhouse for ADA upgrades on their facilities, Christ Church Community Garden Project for seeds and supplies, Cityview Skatepark for park improvements, FAAS for facility improvements, Girls, Inc for Eureka leadership activities, Kiwanis Family House for support of those in need, Rhythmix Cultural Works for Performance Arts and Learning programs for students.
