HELP LOCAL STUDENTS SUCCEED!

HELP LOCAL TEENS SUCCEED! BECOME A WRITERCOACH!

Are you looking for a fun and hands on way to help local students? Consider volunteering with WriterCoach Connection. WCC brings teams of trained volunteers into middle and high schools to work one-on-one with students on their classroom writing assignments. In Oakland we support students at Fremont High School and Life Academy of Bioscience, both located in the Fruitvale District. Volunteers commit to only 1-2 hours, 2-3 times per month. Coaches strengthen students writing skills and help students develop their ideas. With positive encouragement from a caring adult, students become confident writers and thinkers.
You don’t have to be a writer or teacher to volunteer! WCC’s training will provide the strategies and practice you’ll need to be a terrific coach.

Training sessions for new Oakland coaches are underway and will continue into October.
