Hooded Merganser Ducks: Photo Of The Day

ALAMEDA, CA — Joel Bernstein not only snapped a gorgeous photo, he identified the species of duck for us, "Male (black head) and female (brown head) Hooded Merganser seen last Friday in a Bay Farm Island lagoon." An online search reveals that there are 180 species of ducks, so we appreciate the assist!
