Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation with Danielle Szuch

Our world is teeming with stimuli that vie for our attention, and some of us are left in sensory-input overload. This is compounded by the frequent chatter in the back of our minds (the “mind monkey”): we mull over what happened yesterday and what needs to be done tomorrow. We may feel distracted, over-extended, anxious, or disembodied. In this workshop, we will learn how mindfulness meditation can help to focus our attention on the present moment, and how this focus can reduce our stress. We will uncover the resources, available in each of us, that can increase our stability, patience, and relaxation. All students interested in meditation are welcome. The workshop will include some gentle stretching, discussion, and various mindfulness meditation practices. $20 early registration, $25 week of workshop.
