Kiwanis Club of Alameda honors students with four-year scholarships and Hope of America Awards

The Kiwanis Club will award scholarships to five high school seniors , and Hope of America Awards to ten 8th Grade Students.

Alameda students will be honored by parents, teachers and city officials during Kiwanis meetings on May 6 and May 13. Each year the Kiwanis Club Foundation awards four- year and other scholarships to local high school seniors and recognizes educational and community achievements of eighth grade students who are nominated by their teachers and selected by a Kiwanis committee with Hope of America Awards. As the Kiwanis celebrate 100 years of service, this year is a special year for the Club. Scholarships will be given on May 6, 2015 beginning at 6:30 PM and the Hope of America Awards will be given on May 13, 2015 beginning at noon. Meetings are held at the Elks Club, 2255 Santa Clara Avenue in Alameda. Meals are served at a nominal price. Fun and fellowship is free.  Visit www.alamedakiwanis.org.
