WHAT is Little Bear Discovery Camp?
Little Bear Discovery Camp is a safe place for children to express themselves through music, art, dance, academics, games and more. The facilitators of the Little Bear Discovery Camp provide children with the care that children need to grow. The camp provides opportunities for children to enjoy structured games, projects, and activities so that the children are engaged in all they do. Through mindful teaching your child will discover new interest while developing a conscious connection with others and the Earth. Lil Cubs Pre-Kinder (4-5yrs old) and Lil Bears Kinder- 5th grade, will share in a summer of empowerment and FUN! Located Central Alameda (upon registration exact location shared)

“Huggy Bear” has been teaching and nurturing the development of children for over 30yrs. She brings her joy of life, and her connection to the elements all around, to offer children a fun learning adventure.

For over 14yrs “Love Bear” has had a natural calling to care and inspire children. Her attention to detail and organization allows Little Bear Camps to run smoothly and serve the community.

Drumming / Music
This is a powerful way for children to not only learn rhythm, but also learn to center themselves. Drums, percussion instruments, and voice will allow the children to develop eye hand coordination, listening skills, and team building. By participating in a drumming experience, children can be working on attention, impulse control, and decision-making skills.

Arts and Crafts
Children love creativity, especially when they are encouraged to explore. We offer our little bears the opportunity to discover various materials to create art with meaning. From beading to painting, your child will be excited to share their many projects throughout the summer utilizing different art forms.

SwimmingWeather permitting a weekly trip to a local pool with multiple life guards on duty. A great way to cool off on those hot summer days. It is also suggested that children are taught to be safe around bodies of water. Children will be allowed to enjoy the pool at their level, and recieve support and encouragement to learn or enhance their swim ability.

Yoga for Kids
Physically, yoga enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration, sense of calmness, and relaxation improves. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga brings that marvelous inner light that all children have to the surface.
