ALAMEDA, CA — A man who was shot in Alameda on Wednesday afternoon is being treated at Highland Hospital in Oakland for injuries that aren't considered life-threatening, police said today.
Officers responded just before 4 p.m. Wednesday to reports that multiple shots were fired in the area of Cypress Street and Third Street.
They found evidence that a shooting had just occurred in the 300 block of Cypress Street but all of the people involved had fled the area, Alameda police Lt. Hoshmand Durani said.

Nearly an hour later, while officers were still investigating the shooting scene, a police dispatcher received a call from a woman who said that her adult son had come home suffering from a gunshot wound, according to
Durani.
The man was then transported to Highland Hospital by paramedics, Durani said.

Officers have talked to the man at the hospital and are in the process of determining his exact involvement in this shooting, according to Durani.
